The Tests
Before you can take your practical driving test you must pass your theory test. When you pass your theory test you have two years in which to pass your practical driving test. If this time elapses you have to take your theory test again.

Theory Test
Price £23.00 (Subject to change)
It is a multiple choice computer based test. You will be given 50 questions of which you must answer 43 correctly to pass.
The Hazard Perception Test
This is a series of video clips showing various driving situations, you are required to recognise and react to hazards as they develop. There are 14 clips with 15 hazards i.e. one clip has 2 hazards. There are a number of good training aids available in the form of DVD or CD.
Practical Test
Price £62.00 weekdays, £75 evenings and weekends (Subject to change)
The Driving Test will begin with an eyesight check and then vehicle safety questions (Show me/Tell me). After this you will begin the driving part of your test which will include Manoeuvres. You will pass your Driving Test if you can drive safely; complete the set exercises and know the Highway Code and can demonstrate this throughout your drive.
You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the driving test. However, if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test.
